Cantor Fitzgerald Strengthens Municipal Sales and Trading Team
NEW YORK, Oct. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., a leading global financial services firm, announced that it is strengthening its Debt Capital Markets' Municipal Bond Division with the addition of seasoned veterans Jim Dolan, John Donovan, Susan Marron and Dennis DiCicco, who are joining Cantor from Sterne Agee & Leach, Inc. Mr. Dolan joins as a Managing Director and Head of the Municipal Division, responsible the expansion and development of Cantor's Debt Capital Markets Municipal business. Mr. Donovan joins as Managing Director of Trading and Underwriting, Ms. Marron as Senior Vice President of Sales and Mr. DiCicco as Vice President of Institutional Sales.

Tom Basehart in Cantor's Memphis office has been appointed Managing Director of Municipal Trading. He previously was a member of the Bank Services Group.

Mr. Dolan served as a Senior Managing Director of Municipal Bonds at Sterne Agee, where he oversaw the expansion of the municipal sales and trading business. Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer and Founding Partner of Alta Capital Group, and served as a Senior Vice President of Municipal Trading at Lehman Brothers. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Mr. Donovan was a Senior Vice President at Sterne Agee, where he focused on institutional sales and trading. Earlier, he was a Managing Director in the Municipal Institutional Sales Group at Piper Jaffrey, an Institutional Municipal Salesman and Trader at J.P. Morgan, oversaw the Municipal Bond Trading Desk at Lazard Freres, and was an Institutional Trader at Citibank. Mr. Donovan holds a B.S. in Psychology from Georgetown University.
Ms. Marron was a Senior Vice President in Municipal Bonds at Sterne Agee, where she focused on expanding their sales and trading platform. She previously served as a Vice President of Fixed Income Sales at Barclays Capital, as an Associate Vice President on the portfolio management desk at Smith Barney Municipal Bond Funds, and as a Portfolio Manager at Deutsche Bank Private Bank. She holds a B.A. in English and American Literature from Hofstra University.
Mr. Basehart was a Managing Director at Melvin Securities, where he managed the Municipal Trading Department, and a Senior Vice President at Mesirow Financial, where he managed municipal trading, underwriting and sales. He holds a B.S. in Marketing and Finance from Ohio State University.
Mr. DiCicco was in institutional sales for Municipal Bonds at Sterne Agee, a High-Yield and Investment Grade Sales and Trading Assistant at Wedbush Securities and a Municipal Trading Assistant at Jesup & Lamont. He holds a B.A. in Marketing and a minor in Finance from Bentley College.
