Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. Continues to Expand Its Emerging Markets Sales and Trading Team

NEW YORK, June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., a leading global financial services firm, announced today that it is expanding its Emerging Markets fixed income sales and trading business with several key appointments. Stephen Shaw, formerly of Macquarie Capital, Marc B. Appel, formerly of HSBC Bank USA, Ning Lin, formerly of ABN AMRO, Peter B. Schept, formerly of Mesirow Financial, Catalina Borrero, formerly of Barclays Capital, Raul C. Castells, formerly of Altima Advisors Americas LP and C. Maurice Batista formerly of Renaissance Capital all are Managing Directors, joining Charles Cortellesi and Erich Bauer-Rowe, who were recently named co-heads of the Debt Capital Markets' Emerging Markets Division.

Trading: 
Stephen Shaw was Managing Director for Macquarie Capital where he headed Emerging Markets credit trading. Previously, he served as Executive Director at WestLB heading Emerging Markets credit trading and as Director at BBVA Group managing the Latin American fixed income trading team.

Marc B. Appel was Managing Director with HSBC Bank USA heading the Emerging Markets credit derivatives team for Latin America.  Prior to that, he served as Director at ABN Amro where he launched the Emerging Markets credit derivatives team and headed Emerging Markets credit derivatives for Latin America. Earlier, he was a Director at WestLB managing Emerging Markets structured products.

Ning Lin was Senior Emerging Markets Credit Trader at ABN AMRO focused on Latin American corporate and sovereign debt and secondary market issuances. Previously, he was a Vice President in the equity derivatives trading group at HSBC where he worked as a trading strategist and helped developed new products for structured product analysis.

Sales: 
Peter B. Schept was Managing Director at Susquehanna International Group LLP where he helped establish the Emerging Markets sales and trading platform. Prior to that, he served as Senior Trader in the proprietary trading group at Societe Generale and as Senior Vice President of Emerging Markets for BNP Paribas and Santander Investments where he helped establish the Latin American corporate bond trading business.

Catalina Borrero most recently served as Director at Barclays Capital where she focused on Emerging Markets bond sales. Before that, she was a Vice President at Lehman Brothers and an Associate Director at Barclays Capital, responsible for the distribution of structured products to institutional and retail clients in Latin America and the U.S.

Raul C. Castells was a Principal at Altima Advisors Americas LP where he focused on the agricultural sector in Latin America. Before that, he was at Citigroup Global Markets Inc. where he was a Director and Co-Head of Emerging Markets Investor Sales for Latin America.

C. Maurice Batista was Head of FICC Sales at Renaissance Capital where he led the U.S. institutional sales team, coordinating FICC sales efforts with London and Moscow. Previously, he was Director of Institutional Sales for Societe Generale where he built and headed the Emerging Markets sales team. He also served in institutional sales positions at BBVA Securities and Bluestone Capital Partners.
